This is an entry level course for beginners to Linux based on the new Ubuntu 14.04 LTS desktop workstation. We also include some legacy sections for those who are using a version of Ubuntu back as far as 10.4. No prior experience is needed with computers to take this course. Many basics as well as some intermediate topics are covered including basic mouse and keyboard skills, understanding the Linux file system, How to install Ubuntu Desktop Linux, and some basic application skills. Within this course we also cover beginner level topic on other distributions of Ubuntu including Ubuntu-Gnome, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, and some others. The beginning sections will highlight the features of these many flavors og Ubuntu Linux and help you decide which one is right for you. Whatever distribution of Ubuntu you use, this course will help you to get started.
